Reclamation Releases Environmental Documents for Fresno Irrigation District’s Briggs Canal Improvement Project

The Bureau of Reclamation has released for public review environmental documents on canal improvements in the Fresno Irrigation District, which would be partially funded with a grant from the WaterSMART Program. Proposed work on the Briggs Canal system in Fresno County includes upgrading existing facilities, re-lining a concrete-lined portion of the canal, and installing new pipelines, turnouts, control gates and measuring equipment. The WaterSMART Program provides funding for water conservation projects across the 17 western states.

The Draft Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact (EA/FONSI) were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, and are available at the link below.
