Hoover Dam Changes Tour Hours for Winter Season

BOULDER CITY, Nev. - Beginning Sunday, September 25, the Bureau of Reclamation is altering visitor operations at Hoover Dam for the fall and winter months.

The new schedule (in Pacific Time) for the facilities will be:

Parking Garage: Open 8:00 a.m. -- Close 5:15 p.m.

Visitor Center: Open 9:00 a.m. -- Close 5:00 p.m.

Tours/Tickets:
First Powerplant Tour is at 9:25 a.m.
Last Powerplant Tour departs at 3:55 p.m.

First Dam Tour is at 9:30 a.m.
Last Dam Tour departs at 3:45 p.m.
Dam Tours may sell out a couple hours in advance of the last tour)

Last Visitor Center ticket is sold at 4:15 p.m.
(Tickets sold from 3:45-4:15 p.m. are for Visitor Center Admission only)

Two tours are presently offered at Hoover Dam. The “Powerplant Tour” includes a 30-minute guided tour of the powerplant. The “Dam Tour” features a 1-hour guided tour of the powerplant and passageways within the dam. The cost of tickets for both tours includes admission to the Visitor Center.

More than 46 million people have taken the guided tour of Hoover Dam since the tours began in in 1936. Millions more have visited the dam without taking the tour.
