Reclamation Continues Negotiations with the Sacramento Municipal Utilities District for Long-Term Water Service Contract Renewal

The Bureau of Reclamation is continuing negotiations with the Sacramento Municipal Utilities District on contract terms and conditions for renewal of their existing long-term water service contract from within the American River Division of the Central Valley Project. This renewal contract will be updated to reflect existing law and policy governing Reclamation water service contracts. The goal of the negotiations is to arrive at a mutually agreeable long-term contract.

The first negotiation session was held on April 11, 2011. The following sessions are scheduled to continue the negotiations. All sessions will be held at Reclamation's Mid-Pacific Regional Office, 2800 Cottage Way, Sacramento, Calif. 95825:

• Wednesday, August 31, 2011, 10 a.m. to Noon, Room E-2702A
• Wednesday, September 28, 2011, 10 a.m. to Noon, Room E-2901
• Wednesday, October 26, 2011, 10 a.m. to Noon, Room E-2901

The public is welcome to attend the negotiations and will have the opportunity to provide comments to Reclamation regarding this contracting action; participation instructions will be available at each session. The proposed contract and other pertinent documents will also be available at each session.

Due to security requirements at the Regional Office, individuals planning to attend any of the sessions are asked to provide their names in advance to be included on a visitors' list for the guards at the Security Desk. Attendees will be required to check in at the Security Desk upon arrival and obtain a temporary visitor's badge. Please note that attendees must show a photo ID to check in, and cell phones with cameras are not allowed in the Federal Building.
