For Release: August 12, 2011

The Bureau of Reclamation will be closing Lake Way Boulevard from September 12 through October 14, 2011 for public safety while maintenance crews apply protective coatings to Lake Way Boulevard Bridge in Cascade, Idaho.

The road closure, which extends from the Dam Road to Highway 55, is necessary so work crews can access the bridge components.

"This closure prohibits all access including vehicles, pedestrians, horseback riders, and fishermen." said Warren Sedlacek, Natural Resource Specialist. "We know this route is very popular, as soon as the work is completed the road will be reopened."

Travelers can access the west side of Lake Cascade by taking Dam Road to Vista Point Boulevard. For more information please contact Warren Sedlacek at Reclamation's Cascade Field Station at 208-382-4258.
