BILLINGS, MONT. -- The Bureau of Reclamation is continuing to store additional water in Clark Canyon Reservoir at the request of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to aid in flood control efforts downstream on the mainstem of the Missouri River. With water releases from Clark Canyon Dam to the Beaverhead River at approximately 400 cubic feet per second (cfs), reservoir levels at Clark Canyon Reservoir are expected to exceed the top-of-conservation pool elevation of 5546 feet into August.

"Under current projections, the reservoir could reach an elevation of about 5558 feet in July," said Jon Hoerning, Facility Manager. "At these high water levels, portions of the Beaverhead Campground and other campgrounds will be temporarily closed, and some boat ramp access will be impacted. The campground and boat ramp at the Marina area are expected to remain open," Hoerning added.

Recreationists are strongly encouraged to check for the most up-to-date information on boat ramp status at Reclamation's website http://www.usbr.gov/gp/boat/index.cfm before planning a trip to Clark Canyon Reservoir.
