Reclamation Seeks Entities to Develop Renewable Energy Projects on San Luis Project Lands Near Los Banos

The Bureau of Reclamation announces the availability of a Request for Interest (RFI) from any entity or entities interested in developing a renewable energy project(s) in a lease arrangement on existing Reclamation lands in the vicinity of the San Luis Project near Los Banos, California. 
California's Department of Water Resources (DWR), the Western Area Power Administration (Western) and Reclamation are interested in developing a joint federal-state partnership for environmentally appropriate renewable energy on federal lands in California. Approximately 1,500 acres at the San Luis Project may be usable for photovoltaic or wind generation development.  

A site visit of the San Luis Project is scheduled for Thursday, June 30, 2011, at 10 a.m.  Individuals interested in touring the site should meet in the parking lot of the William R. Gianelli Pump-Generating Plant (http://www.water.ca.gov/swp/facilities/gianelli.cfm) by 9:45 a.m. Parties intending to attend the site visit, should provide a contact name, phone number, e-mail address, and business address to Barry Mortimeyer, Reclamation project manager, Bureau of Reclamation, 3310 El Camino Avenue, Suite 300, Sacramento, CA 95821,or e-mail bmortimeyer@usbr.gov, 916-979-3001, or fax (916) 979-2494 prior to the site visit.

Deadline for submission of a Statement of Interest in this project is Friday, August 5, 2011. Submission instructions are located on the project website http://www.usbr.gov/mp/cvo/renproj/ and should be sent via e-mail to bmortimeyer@usbr.gov. Questions regarding this RFI will be accepted via e-mail at bmortimeyer@usbr.gov. An e-mail acknowledgement of receipt will be provided, and answers to questions and additional information will be posted online at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/cvo/renproj/.

An expression of interest in developing a renewable resource on this property is not binding or promissory. In addition, further RFIs may be issued. Failure to respond to this RFI does not preclude the ability to respond to any future RFIs.
