High Water Levels will Limit Recreation Access at Tiber Reservoir

For Release: June 08, 2011

Releases of approximately 725 cubic feet per second (cfs) from Tiber Dam to the Marias River are being made to assist the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) with replacement storage and to aid in flood control efforts on the Missouri River downstream of the Corps' Fort Peck Reservoir. As a result, reservoir levels at Tiber are expected to exceed the top-of-conservation pool elevation of 2993 feet through July. Under current projections, the reservoir could reach a peak elevation as high as 3008 feet by late June. As a result of the high water level, boat ramp access will be severely impacted.

Recreationists are strongly encouraged to check for the most up-to-date information on boat ramp status at Reclamation's website http://www.usbr.gov/gp/boat/index.cfm before planning a trip to Tiber.
