BILLINGS, MONT. -- The Bureau of Reclamation is planning to modernize and rehabilitate Riverside Campground this summer below Canyon Ferry Dam and Reservoir. The construction activities will include earthwork, roadwork, campsite improvements, construction of a group use shelter, and installation of a universally accessible floating dock.

Work is tentatively scheduled to begin the last week of May 2011 and is expected to be completed by November 2011. Riverside Campground will be closed during construction. Fishing access and day use sites below Canyon Ferry Dam will remain open during construction.

"The campground and boat ramp will remain open until the construction begins," said Paul Backlund, Canyon Ferry Division Manager. "No fees will be charged during this time period and no potable water will be available at the site. We appreciate the public's patience while this popular campground is closed for much needed improvements this summer." he added.
