Reclamation Continues Negotiations with SMUD for Long-Term Water Service Contract Renewal

The Bureau of Reclamation is continuing negotiations with the Sacramento Municipal Utilities District (SMUD) on contract terms and conditions for renewal of their existing long-term water service contract from within the American River Division of the Central Valley Project.

This renewal contract will be updated to reflect existing law and policy governing Reclamation water service contracts. The goal of the negotiations is to arrive at a mutually agreeable long-term contract. The first negotiation session was held on April 11, 2011. Three Monday sessions are scheduled to continue the negotiations:  May 16, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.    -    June 20, 1 to 5 p.m.    -    July 18, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

All sessions will be held at Reclamation's Mid-Pacific Regional Office, 2800 Cottage Way, Room E-2702, Sacramento, Calif. 95825. Attendees are asked to arrive 15 minutes prior to the session in order to have sufficient time to park, sign-in at the security desk and receive their visitor badge.  

The public is welcome to attend these negotiations and will have the opportunity to provide comments to Reclamation regarding this contracting action; participation instructions will be available at the sessions. The proposed contract and other pertinent documents will also be available at the sessions.
