Public Meetings Scheduled for Proposed Modifications to St. Mary Diversion Facilities

BILLINGS, MONT. -- The Bureau of Reclamation is holding three public scoping meetings to receive comments on proposed bull trout modifications to the St. Mary diversion facilities of the Milk River Project, near Babb, Mont. All meetings start at 5:30 p.m., and will be held at the following locations in Montana:
- March 21, Browning: Blackfeet Business Council Chambers, located at 1 Agency Square
- March 22, Malta: Great Northern Hotel, New Banquet Room, located at 2 South 1st Street East
- March 23, Havre: Duck Inn, Olympic Room, located at 1300 1st Street.
The proposed Federal action will provide fish passage for threatened bull trout, minimize fish entrainment in the irrigation canal system and enable the continued operation of the Milk River Project through compliance with provisions of the Endangered Species Act.
Comments regarding the project should be received by April 27, 2011, and may be submitted at the public meetings or by mail, fax, or e-mail to:
