The Bureau of Reclamation announced today that the Adaptive Management Work Group will meet on February 9 - 10, 2011 in Tempe, Ariz., to address topics related to the Glen Canyon Dam Adaptive Management Program. The AMWG committee provides a forum for discussion of topics related to the operation of Glen Canyon Dam and ongoing monitoring of resource conditions downstream of the dam.

The two-day meeting will include: reports by the U.S. Geological Survey Grand Canyon Monitoring Research Center summarizing research findings including a synthesis of the three high flow experiments; an overview and status of two environmental analysis documents recently released for public review by the Bureau of Reclamation; updates on Upper Colorado River Basin hydrology, operations, and potential for a spring high flow experiment; Technical Work Group activities report, and an overview of the planned Glen Canyon Dam Long-Term Experimental and Management Plan Environmental Impact Statement.

The meeting will begin on February 9 at 9:30 a.m. and conclude at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will run from 8:00 a.m. until 2:45 p.m. on February 10.
