The Bureau of Reclamation has released The Colorado River Documents 2008, a new book that discusses the Secretary of the Interior's management of the Colorado River from 1979 through 2008.

The book details the statutes, policies, agreements, and court decisions relating to river operations, environmental matters, Mexican treaty deliveries, water development, water entitlement actions, Native American water settlements, proceedings in Arizona v. California, and power generation and distribution issues that have occurred over the past 30 years.

"The Colorado River Documents 2008 joins three previously published volumes - The Hoover Dam Power and Water Contracts and Related Data published in 1933, The Hoover Dam Documents 1948, and Updating the Hoover Dam Documents 1978 - that describe influential legislation and actions impacting the Colorado River," said Lorri Gray-Lee, Regional Director of Reclamation's Lower Colorado Region. "The Lower Colorado Region Field Solicitor and staff from Reclamation's Upper Colorado and Lower Colorado Regions conducted months of exhaustive research and writing to prepare this comprehensive document."

The book is available for sale by the United States Government Printing Office. It can be ordered on-line at http://bookstore.gpo.gov/collections/colorado-river.jsp. Each book comes with a CD that includes the complete text of the first three books, the complete text of this book, and all source documents.

Individual CDs can also be purchased from the GPO at this same website.
