BILLINGS, MONT. -- The Bureau of Reclamation recently awarded a $2.5 million contract to a joint venture between Moltz Constructors Inc. of Cody, Wyoming, and Engineering & Construction Innovations, Inc. of St. Paul, Minnesota, for rehabilitation of the Yellowtail Afterbay Dam.

The contract includes surface preparation and coating of the spillway radial gates, sluice gates, and canal gates; radial gate seal replacement; installation of galvanic anode cathodic protection; radial gate hoist wire rope repair; concrete repair; and placement of riprap in the spillway stilling basin.

Work under the contract is scheduled to be completed by spring of 2012, and will be subject to operational limitations to ensure no disruption or deviations of scheduled releases to the Bighorn River occur during performance of the contract.
