For Release: October 12, 2010

MONTANA -- East Bench Irrigation District will gradually reduce releases from Clark Canyon Dam, south of Dillon, Montana, beginning Monday, October 18, 2010. Water releases will be temporarily suspended on Tuesday, October 19, at approximately 9:30 a.m. for 2 to 3 hours. A residual amount of flow will remain in the river from stream bank storage and natural springs. Temporary flow reduction to the Beaverhead River is necessary to allow Reclamation and East Bench Irrigation District personnel to inspect the dam outlet works. Immediately following the inspection on October 19, water releases will resume to provide instream flows for the fall and winter.
