The Bureau of Reclamation and the South Columbia Basin Irrigation District will co-host an open house to provide information on operational changes at Potholes Reservoir on Tuesday, August 3 at Fire District 11 – Station 3, one mile west of the Mar Don Resort on Highway 262, Othello, Washington. Potholes Reservoir, impounded by O’Sullivan Dam, is about 12 miles south of Moses Lake, Washington.

The open house will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. The fire station meeting room has limited seating for about 50 people. The public will have an opportunity to learn about the changes being implemented in the operations of Potholes Reservoir, as well as the historic background of the reservoir. The meeting facilities are physically accessible to people with disabilities. Please direct requests for sign language interpretation for the hearing impaired, or other auxiliary aids, to Mr. John Moody, (509) 754-0243, one week prior to the meeting.

The reservoir collects return flows from all irrigation in the upper portion of the Columbia Basin Project for reuse in the southern portion. The reservoir is home to a variety of fish and wildlife, and is also a popular recreation spot.
