Reclamation Event to Commemorate 75th Anniversary of Hoover Dam's Dedication

Hoover Dam, dedicated on September 30, 1935, is one of the world's most innovative and successful engineering projects. The Bureau of Reclamation will conduct a one-hour event on Thursday, September 30, to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the dam's dedication. Anne Castle, the Department of the Interior's Assistant Secretary, Water and Science and Michael Connor, Commissioner of Reclamation, will be the key speakers. Lower Colorado River water users, Hoover Dam power customers, Congressional staff, Colorado River Basin State representatives, and other interests are expected to participate. The event will be web cast live from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The web link is: http://hooverdam.istreamplanet.com.

WHAT: Event to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the dedication of Hoover Dam

WHEN: Thursday, September 30, from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. PDT

WHERE: At Hoover Dam, in the parking area next to the Winged Figures of the Republic statues on the Nevada side of the dam.

MEDIA PARKING: Media will be allowed to park in the Nevada Spillway Parking lot, behind the old exhibit building, until 11 a.m. At 11 a.m., access to this area will be closed, and parking will be available in the Hoover Dam parking garage. Please bring credentials to ensure access.
