Reclamation Announces a Technical Meeting and Continuation of Negotiations of a New Repayment Contract for San Luis Drainage Collection Facilities

The Bureau of Reclamation has scheduled a technical meeting and a negotiation session with Westlands Water District (Westlands). The technical meeting will be a discussion on construction of the drainage collection facilities identified in the San Luis Drainage Feature Re-Evaluation Study of March 2007. The second meeting will be the fourth negotiation session on a new repayment contract for reimbursement of federal funds used to construct the Westlands' drainage collection facilities.
The negotiation session will convene immediately following the 11:00 a.m., technical meeting. Westlands is a contractor in the San Luis Unit of the Bureau of Reclamation's Central Valley Project. Located west of the City of Firebaugh and extending south to Kettleman City, Westlands encompasses more than 600,000 acres of farmland in western Fresno and Kings Counties.

The public is welcome to attend both the technical meeting and negotiation session and will have the opportunity to comment.
