Reclamation Announces Next Negotiation Session on New Repayment Contracts for Central Valley Project's Friant Division

The Bureau of Reclamation will hold a public session to negotiate a new contract with an existing long-term water service contractor, Gravelly Ford Water District, in the Friant Division of the Central Valley Project.

Reclamation is converting, by December 31, 2010, existing Friant Division long-term water service contracts to repayment contracts under mutually agreeable terms and conditions, pursuant to the Reclamation Project Act of 1939 and the San Joaquin River Restoration Settlement Act.  The converted contracts will have accelerated repayment provisions to make funds available for implementing the Settlement Act.  Gravelly Ford Water District has asked to convert its existing long-term water service contract.
