The Bureau of Reclamation has released the Final Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact (EA/FONSI) for the construction of up to six new wells within Merced County.

Reclamation will provide funding under Title IV of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 for the construction of these wells.  Four of the wells will be constructed within the Grassland Water District and two of the wells will be constructed within the California Department of Fish and Game North Grassland Wildlife Area.   The new wells will supplement the refuge and private wetlands water supply associated with the Grassland Resource Conservation District.
