The Bureau of Reclamation has released four Final Environmental Assessments and Findings of No Significant Impact (EA/FONSI) for drought assistance projects on Indian Reservations located in Modoc, Shasta and Plumas Counties in California.  Reclamation will provide funding under Title IV of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 to California Indian Tribes who are experiencing effects due to the prolonged drought in California.

  • Reclamation will provide funding to the Fort Bidwell Indian Community to construct one new well and install water storage tanks for fire suppression on the rancheria. Documents may be viewed online.

  • With funding from Reclamation, Cedarville Rancheria will construct one new well which would supplement their current existing residential water service from the City of Cedarville if/when drought conditions result in the reduction of the Rancheria's surface water supply.  Documents may be viewed online

  • Reclamation will provide funding for the development of two community groundwater wells to provide a dependable source of drinking water for the Greenville Rancheria and the surrounding community.   Documents may be viewed online.

  • The Pit River Rancheria will install an irrigation well for reclamation of productive areas that have been in a state of degradation due to several years of drought.  In addition, the Rancheria will develop a drought plan to aid in the use of water resources during future droughts.  Documents may be viewed online.

The Final EAs/FONSIs were developed to meet requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act.  If you encounter problems accessing documents online, please call 916-978-5100 (TDD 916-978-5608) or e-mail mpPublicAffairs@usbr.gov.
