Reclamation Selects New Manager for Ephrata Field Office

The Bureau of Reclamation has selected Stephanie Utter to serve as the Ephrata Field Office Manager in Ephrata, Wash. She replaces Bill Gray who accepted the position of Area Manager for the Columbia-Cascades Area Office.

Utter began her Federal career as a Cooperative Education Student with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in 1993. Later, she was hired as a Natural Resource Specialist in Reclamation's Montana Area Office in Billings, Mont. In 1999, she was reassigned to the Ephrata Field Office in Ephrata, Wash., as a Natural Resource Specialist and has progressed through several positions including her most recent position as the Manager of the Resource Management Group.

"Stephanie brings a host of experience to her new position," said Bill Gray, Area Manager, Columbia-Cascades Area Office. "She is willing and able to tackle complex issues, think outside the box, and problem solve with diverse groups while protecting Reclamation's interests and natural resources. Through her actions, she has become a role model and encourages others to pursue their goals and dreams."

In 1994, Utter received a Bachelor of Science degree from Montana State University in Horticulture with a Landscape Design/Natural Resource emphasis. She began her new assignment on June 7, 2010.

Utter is married to Chad. They have two lovely daughters, Charlaine and Terrin.

The Ephrata Field Office is located in eastern Washington and oversees the Columbia Basin Project and several other small projects in eastern Washington, northern Idaho and western Montana.
