Releases from Nimbus Dam to the Lower American River have been increased to 8,000 cubic feet per second (cfs). Release rates above normal are expected to continue for the next 2 weeks, depending on conditions. Releases this time last year were about 2,500 cfs. The 15-year median release is about 3,000 cfs.

With a capacity of 977,000 acre-feet, Folsom is at 944,000 acre-feet of storage (97 percent of capacity). As air temperatures rise and reservoir inflow remains high due to snowmelt, operations will be managed to maintain space in the reservoir. Any changes will be announced.
