For Release: June 02, 2010

The Bureau of Reclamation has released for public review and comment the Draft Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact (EA/FONSI) for the temporary supply of Incremental Level 4 water to Willow Creek Mutual Water Company (the company) for wetlands management.

Reclamation will enter into a temporary water service contract with the company to provide up to 3,000 acre-feet of water per year for wetland habitat management.  If the water is not needed for a designated Central Valley Project Improvement Act wildlife refuge in any given year under the contract, then the water would be provided to the company for use only on its conservation easement lands, which have been approved by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.  The proposed action does not involve any construction activities and would not cause any land use changes.

The Draft EA and FONSI were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and are available online at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=5777.  If you encounter problems accessing documents online, please call 916-978-5100 (TTY 916-978-5608) or e-mail mppublicaffairs@usbr.gov.

Please send comments to Ms. Shelly Hatleberg, Bureau of Reclamation, 2800 Cottage Way, Sacramento, CA 95825, by close of business Wednesday, June 15, 2010.  Comments may also be faxed to Ms. Hatleberg at 916-978-5055 or e-mailed to shatleberg@usbr.gov.
