The Bureau of Reclamation has constructed four equestrian access points surrounding Cascade Reservoir located in Valley County on the North Fork of the Payette River about 79 miles north of Boise, Idaho. The access points promote public land uses by providing dispersed access routes to day use areas, campgrounds, boat ramps, as well as interpretive areas.

There are two access points located on Conservation/Open Space land, which is open to equestrian access year round. The remaining two access points are located on Wildlife Management Areas which are open to equestrian access from July 2 through January 31, and are closed to all public access from February 1 through July 1 for nesting season.

Please visit http://www.usbr.gov/pn/recreation/idaho/cascade/ to review the Equestrian Access Points map, which shows the access point locations and the guidelines for use of these areas. The map link also displays parking availability at each access gate.

The Lake Cascade Resource Management Plan designates the land use for Bureau of Reclamation land surrounding the reservoir. The plan is available at http://www.usbr.gov/pn/programs/rmp/lakecascade/index.html.
