The Bureau of Reclamation will complete several small construction projects at Canyon Ferry Reservoir in Montana this recreation season.

"The work involves construction of universally accessible parking spaces, sidewalks, campsites, picnic sites, and shelters," said Shawn Bryant, Assistant Facility Operations Supervisor at Canyon Ferry.

Accessibility projects are scheduled at Jo Bonner, Goose Bay, Chinamen's Gulch, Silos, Hellgate, Confederate, Cottonwood, and White Earth campgrounds; the Lewis and Clark Day Use Area; and the Canyon Ferry Visitor Center.

"We have been planning these upgrades for some time and it will be good to actually see them constructed. The modifications will provide the recreating public with an increased opportunity to enjoy Canyon Ferry," Bryant added.

The contractor performing the work will be C STAR Joint Venture from Billings, Mont. They are scheduled to begin work in April and anticipate project completion in November. The campgrounds and recreation sites will remain open during construction, but access to the sites may be restricted periodically.
