Reclamation Extends Public Comment Period for Draft EA/FONSI for CVP Water Transfers South of the Delta

The Bureau of Reclamation has extended the public comment period from Monday, March 29, to Friday, April 9, 2010, for the Draft Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact (EA/FONSI) for the transfer of up to 20,500 acre-feet of Central Valley Project (CVP) water to assist South-of-Delta water service contractors with 2010 and 2011 water supplies. The transfers would include water from the Central California Irrigation District to San Luis, Panoche, Del Puerto, and Westlands Water Districts from April 1, 2010, through December 31, 2010, and April 1, 2011, through December 31, 2011, and the transfer of up to 5,000 acre-feet from Firebaugh Canal Water District to San Luis and Westlands Water Districts from April 1, 2010, through December 31, 2010, and April 1, 2011, through December 31, 2011.
