For Release: March 23, 2010
Reclamation will be performing scheduled, semi-annual maintenance at the Yellowtail Afterbay Dam beginning April 12 and ending approximately April 22. "The work consists of inspections and preventative maintenance on the three sluice gates," said Dan Jewell, Area Manager for Reclamation's Montana Area Office.
During the maintenance period, the Afterbay Reservoir elevation will continue to fluctuate through the normal operating range and releases to the Bighorn River will be made through the five radial gates. "We will be paying particular attention to our operations during this maintenance event to ensure that releases to the Bighorn River are maintained without disruption," Jewell added.
