For Release: March 22, 2010

The Bureau of Reclamation will begin work to replace the logs and concrete barriers at Pole Park on March 29. Pole Park is located about a mile south of Grand Coulee Dam along Highway 155.

"The log barriers are falling apart and need to be replaced," said Lynne Brougher, Public Affairs Officer.

Beginning March 29 thru April 9, Pole Park and the hiking trail connecting Pole Park to the corner of Highway 155 and Federal Way will be closed. The hiking trail to the north of Pole Park will remain open. To access the trailhead, people should park in the model dam parking lot across from the Reclamation administration building.

Work will also be completed on the corner of Highway 155 and Federal Way. Boulders and gates will be placed on this corner, delineating the area that the public can use to display vehicles for sale. To display vehicles for sale, a permit must be acquired from the Bureau of Reclamation's Ephrata Field Office, 32 C Street NW, Ephrata WA 98823
