Draft Environmental Impact Statement Released For Folsom Dam Road Access Restriction

The Bureau of Reclamation has released for public review and comment the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Folsom Dam Road Access Restriction. The Draft EIS addresses impacts of continuing to keep Folsom Dam Road closed to the public. The document describes and presents the environmental effects of the preferred alternative, the no-action alternative, and two additional alternatives that provide for partial road opening.

Public hearings will be held to receive comments on the Draft EIS:

In Sacramento Tuesday, January 4, 2005 5 to 7 p.m. Library Galleria, East Room 828 I Street

In Folsom Wednesday, January 5, 2005 5 to 8 p.m. Folsom Community Center, West Room 52 Natoma Street

Written comments on the Draft EIS must be received by Tuesday, January 18, 2005. Please mail comments to Mr. Robert Schroeder, Project Manager, Bureau of Reclamation, Central California Area Office, 7794 Folsom Dam Road, Folsom, CA 95630-1799. They may also be faxed to 916-989-7208 or e-mailed to rschroeder@mp.usbr.gov.
