Reclamation Releases Draft EA/FONSI on 5-Year Warren Act Contracts for Banta-Carbona, Byron-Bethany, Patterson, and West Stanislaus Irrigation Districts

The Bureau of Reclamation announces the availability of the Draft Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact (EA/FONSI) for public review and comment on the execution of four 5-year temporary Warren Act contracts in 2010 for Banta-Carbona Irrigation District, Byron-Bethany Irrigation District, Patterson Irrigation District, and West Stanislaus Irrigation District.  

Reclamation proposes to execute four 5-year temporary Warren Act contracts in 2010 for the conveyance and storage of non-Central Valley Project (CVP) (pre-1914 water rights or State Water Resources Control Board License) water in the Delta-Mendota Canal for up to 10,000 acre-feet per year per contractor through contract water year 2015. All non-CVP water would be moved before the end of the 5-year period (contract year ending February 28, 2016).  Conveyance of non-CVP water under a Warren Act contract is subject to available capacity.
