For Release: November 13, 2009

Reclamation announces the availability of the Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) and Draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) to approve Patterson Irrigation District (PID) transferring 1,500 acre-feet of its replacement water to Del Puerto Water District (DPWD). Reclamation will convey the water through the Delta-Mendota Canal to the DPWD turnouts where it will be diverted. This is a one-time, temporary transfer that would be completed by the end of the 2009 contract water year which ends February 28, 2010. Approval of the Proposed Action would provide supplemental surface water to DPWD to help maintain existing crops.

The Draft EA and FONSI were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, and are available for public review and comment.
