Reclamation Announces Availability of a Draft EA/FONSI for Construction of an Irrigation Well and Repair of an Irrigation Pond on the Washoe Stewart Ranch in Nevada

The Bureau of Reclamation has released a Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) and Draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for construction of a new irrigation well and the repair of an irrigation pond located on the Stewart Ranch (Ranch) about 22 miles east of South Lake Tahoe, California. This project involves Reclamation providing funding to the Washoe Tribe (Tribe). This effort would enable the Tribe to bring their agricultural production back to historical levels on the Ranch.

The Draft EA and FONSI were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and are available for public review and comments.
