Reclamation Releases Draft EA/FONSI for Enterprise Canal at Big Dry Creek Improvement Project in the Central Valley Project's Fresno Irrigation District

The Bureau of Reclamation has released the Draft Environmental Assessment/Finding of No Significant Impact (EA/FONSI) for the Fresno Irrigation District (FID) Enterprise Canal at Big Dry Creek Improvement Project for public review. FID is located about 20 miles west of Fresno, California.
The Bureau of Reclamation proposes to fund through a Water 2025 Challenge Grant the replacement of an existing siphon structure with new control and diversion structures that would allow improved management of water that enters FID's Enterprise Canal at Big Dry Creek. Construction would begin in Fall 2009 with completion anticipated for Spring 2010.
The Draft EA/FONSI was prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and is available online at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=4512.
