Reclamation Closes East Portal Road For The Winter

On Monday, November 22, 2004, Reclamation closed the East Portal Road, located east of Montrose, Colo., for the winter. The road, beginning at the junction with State Highway 347, provides access to the Gunnison River within the Curecanti National Recreation Area, the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, and Crystal Dam.

The Road will reopen next spring as weather conditions permit.
