David Gore Appointed as Assistant Regional Director of Technical Services for Reclamation's Mid-Pacific Region

Mr. Donald Glaser, Regional Director of the Bureau of Reclamation's Mid-Pacific Region, has announced the appointment of Mr. David Gore as the Assistant Regional Director of Technical Services, effective Sunday, September 13, 2009.

In his new position, Mr. Gore will assist the Regional Director in overseeing management of the Region's technical divisions. His focus will be on improving efficient accomplishment of the Region's workload through team work and support to Area and Field Offices and other Reclamation technical service providers.

"David Gore is a critical contribution to the senior management team," Glaser said. "He brings a wealth of experience with the Corps of Engineers and Reclamation that has prepared him well for his new position."

From 2002 to 2009, Gore held the position of Regional Engineer where he managed a staff of 49 design engineers, geologists, photogrammetrists, dam safety project managers, and technicians in the Region's Division of Design and Construction. Since March 2009, he has been working closely with the Department of the Interior, the Klamath Basin Area Office, multiple agencies, and stakeholder partners on Klamath Basin Restoration Agreement planning. Gore has 31 years of Federal experience, 22 years with Reclamation and 7 years with the U.S. Army Corps (Corps) of Engineers, Sacramento District. He began his career with Reclamation in Texas, working as a rotation engineer in construction management at the Palmetto Bend Project, near Houston, Texas.

During his career, Gore has managed numerous planning projects related to off-stream storage, rehabilitation of existing facilities, water supply development, environmental restoration, and flood control for Reclamation and the Corps. Gore spent 11 months in Washington, D.C. in the Corps' Planning and Project Manager Development Program.

He graduated from the University of Michigan in 1978 where he obtained a degree in civil engineering. Gore obtained his professional Civil Engineering registration in the State of California in 1991.
