The Wyoming Area Office of the Bureau of Reclamation in Mills, Wyo., is reducing the rate of release of water from Gray Reef Dam resulting in lower flows in the North Platte River below Gray Reef Dam, according to John H. Lawson, Wyoming Area Manager.
Beginning September 8, the release of water from Gray Reef Dam will be decreased from 1,000 cubic feet per second (cfs) to a flow of approximately 800 cfs by September 9. The release from Gray Reef Dam will be decreased further to 600 cfs around September 15. By October 1, the Gray Reef Dam release will be decreased to 500 cfs for the winter.
Boaters, recreationists, and irrigators should take proper precautions regarding changing river flows between Gray Reef and Glendo Reservoirs.
