The Bureau of Reclamation and the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office will conduct an emergency response training exercise at Pueblo Dam on Friday, November 19. The exercise will be live and conducted in real time. It will run from 9 a.m. until mid-afternoon.

The purpose of the exercise is to test inter-agency communications and response plans. Reclamation and the Sheriff's Office regularly test their emergency plans in order to maintain readiness should an emergency actually occur.

Visitors to the Pueblo Reservoir area on Friday might notice increased activity around, and even on, Pueblo Dam. There is also a possibility of increased emergency vehicle traffic around the dam and reservoir during the exercise. Visitors are asked to please stay clear of the exercise and its participants.

For additional information, please contact Kara Lamb of the Bureau of Reclamation at (970) 962-4326 or on e-mail at klamb@gp.usbr.gov, or contact Karen Ashcraft of Pueblo County's Emergency Management Department at (719) 583-6202 or on e-mail at ashcraft@co.pueblo.co.us.
