Soucy Appointed Assistant Regional Director

Great Plains Regional Director Mike Ryan announced today the appointment of John Soucy as Assistant Regional Director for Reclamation's Great Plains Region, headquartered in Billings, Mont.
Ryan said, "I am very pleased to have John on my management team in Billings. John has had a long and distinguished management career with both Reclamation and the United States Air Force. His breadth of experience will serve our organization well."
Soucy will assist Ryan and Deputy Regional Director Gary Campbell in managing Reclamation facilities and programs in the Great Plains Region, which encompasses all or parts of nine states from Montana and North Dakota to Texas. The region manages 80 dams and reservoirs, providing irrigation water for over two million acres of cropland and drinking water to more than two million rural and urban residents. The region also manages 21 power plants producing enough electricity to meet the needs of about 250,000 households.
Soucy has been with Reclamation since 1991, serving for the past 12 years as the regions chief information officer. Prior to coming to Reclamation, Soucy worked for the Air Force, Pentagon, Washington D,C as Manager for Information Technology Contracts and Administration in support of the Office of the Secretary of Defense and the Office of the Secretary of the U.S. Air Force.
Soucy has been a member of the District Advancement Committee for the Boy Scouts of America in Billings, Mont., for nearly 15 years. He has also been a football official for more than twenty-five years.
