The Bureau of Reclamation will work in cooperation with various law enforcement agencies to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic across the top of Hungry Horse Dam to accommodate a security training exercise on May 11.

The temporary roadway closure will occur from 6:00 a.m. - noon as state, federal, and local law enforcement agencies conduct a security buffer zone. The dam is located off State Highway 2 in Hungry Horse, Mont.

"This cooperative effort among law enforcement authorities, the State of Montana and Reclamation will ensure a greater level of security at Hungry Horse Dam and the surrounding area," said Dennis Philmon, Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist.

Hungry Horse Dam was completed in 1953. It is located on the south fork of the Flathead River, 15 miles south of the west entrance to Glacier National Park and 20 miles northeast of Kalispell, Mont.
