Public lands in the Bureau of Reclamation's Great Plains Region are remarkable for the many natural resources and diverse recreation opportunities they offer. From the plains of Montana and North Dakota to the bayous and marshes of the Texas Gulf Coast, you could spend a lifetime experiencing outdoor adventures close to home.

Hunting and fishing are often permitted on the Great Plains Region's 1.6 million acres, which includes 350,000 acres of surface water and 2,700 miles of shoreline. However, restrictions and regulations vary from area to area and state to state.

To better inform the approximately 14 million visitors who come to the region's reservoirs each year, Reclamation has produced a podcast that covers a variety of topics of importance to anglers, hunters and other recreationists.

"As stewards of our public resources, it is important that we provide citizens with the information they need to utilize their public lands," said Mike Ryan, Great Plains Regional Director. "I am pleased to provide podcasting to the increasing numbers of the public who use personal computers and portable audio players to stay up-to-date on rules and regulations concerning hunting, fishing and recreating on public lands."

The Great Plains Region offers monthly podcasts with a unique mix of information and interviews. Users can subscribe to the content and be automatically notified when new podcast episodes are published.
