Reclamation partners with local cable company to bring live video of Jamestown Reservoir spillway

The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation in partnership with the Jamestown Cable Services Inc., brings the public live online video of the Jamestown Reservoir spillway.
"We are pleased to provide this service to the increasing number of the public who are interested in the Jamestown Reservoir spillway and our operations," said Reclamation spokesman Mike Odle. "The live video feed provides for safe viewing from the comfort of your home or office."
During the flooding, Jamestown Reservoir spillway has become a popular attraction. Reclamation will offer three free tours of the Jamestown Reservoir, spillway and outlet works this weekend. The outlet works, which releases water from the reservoir has been flowing as fast as 1800 cfs or between 65 mph and 75 mph.
Tours will begin at the corner of 4th Ave SE and Jamestown Dam road on April 25 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and April 26 at 10 a.m. This will be the only guided public viewing opportunity. Public wishing to attend should wear proper clothing for the weather and sturdy shoes. Additionally, expect walks of up to 250 feet and trail walking.
Daily public viewing of Jamestown Reservoir spillway is available along 4th Avenue southeast and Jamestown Dam road.
Public visiting the Reservoir are cautioned about heavy equipment and emergency vehicles along the dam. The public is reminded to stay behind the safety perimeter. Additionally, Jamestown Dam Road is closed to traffic until further notice.
