Reclamation to Conduct Survey on the Bighorn River

The Bureau of Reclamation, in conjunction with the Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks (MFWP), will be collecting river depth data on the Bighorn River between the Afterbay Dam and St. Xavier Bridge from April 27, 2009, through May 2, 2009. A MFWP jet boat will be utilized in conducting the survey during daylight hours.
Information gathered during the survey will be used in the Bighorn River Side Channel Appraisal Study, which is being initiated by Bighorn River System Issues Group. Summaries of the Groups meetings and studies can be accessed at http://www.usbr.gov/gp/mtao/yellowtail/bighorn_longterm.cfm.
