Reclamation Releases Draft EA and FONSI on Raw Water Bypass Pipeline Project for Public Review and Comment

The San Juan Water District (SJWD), in partnership with the City of Roseville and the Bureau of Reclamation, is proposing to construct a permanent raw water bypass pipeline (Bypass Pipeline) on Reclamations Central California Area Office land in Folsom. The new 72-inch Bypass Pipeline will run parallel to the existing 3,400 foot-long, 84-inch, pipeline, and will ensure a secure and reliable water conveyance system during planned and/or unplanned outages of the existing pipeline. A Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) have been prepared and are available for public review and comment.

The Draft EA and FONSI were prepared by Reclamation, the lead Federal agency, in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act; by SJWD, the lead State agency, in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA); and by the City of Roseville, the responsible agency under CEQA.
