Salt Lake City, UT - The Bureau of Reclamation announced today that the Adaptive Management Work Group (AMWG) will meet April 29-30, 2009 in Phoenix, Ariz., to address topics related to the Glen Canyon Dam Adaptive Management Program. The AMWG committee provides a forum for discussion of topics related to the operation of Glen Canyon Dam and ongoing monitoring of resource conditions downstream of the dam.

At the meeting, the AMWG will receive a variety of updates and briefings, including: an update on Humpback Chub numbers by the Grand Canyon Monitoring and Research Center; update on the 2008 High Flow Experiment and ensuing sediment budget; update on cultural resources monitoring; status report on the 2007/2008 Biological Opinion Conservation Measures; a report of FY 08 expenditures; and a discussion of the FY 10-11 AMWG budget priorities.

The AMWG is a Federal Advisory Committee appointed by the Secretary of the Interior with representatives from federal agencies, Colorado River basin states, Native American tribal governments, environmental groups, recreation interests and contractors for federal power from Glen Canyon Dam.
