Reclamation Announces Wastewater System Rehabilitation Project at New Melones Reservoir

The Bureau of Reclamation announces that beginning Monday, March 16, 2009, portions of the wastewater system in the Glory Hole and Tuttletown Recreation Areas at New Melones Reservoir will be shut down for rehabilitation of the sewage lift stations. The work is scheduled to be completed by May 15, 2009.

Facility closures for the Glory Hole Recreation Area include Big Oak campsite 107 with the adjacent restroom, Big Oak campsites 126 and 128 with the adjacent restroom, Ironhorse campsite 1, Ironhorse campsite 18 and the adjacent restroom, and Ironhorse campsites 53 and 54 and the adjacent restroom. Facility closure for the Tuttletown Recreation Area will include the boat-launch area restroom. During this time, portable restrooms will be available.

Additional wastewater system rehabilitation work in the Tuttletown Recreation Area is scheduled for fall 2009, soon after the Labor Day weekend. Dates for the wastewater system renovation in Tuttletown will be published at a later time.
