Reclamation Schedules Media Briefings for Friday, February 20, on WY 2009 CVP Water Supply Allocation

Mr. Donald Glaser, Regional Director for the Bureau of Reclamation's Mid-Pacific Region, will be joined in Sacramento by Mr. Lester Snow, Director, California Department of Water Resources (DWR) for the first of three media briefings to be held on Friday, February 20, 2009. At all three briefings, Mr. Glaser will discuss the initial Water Year (WY) 2009 allocations for the Federal Central Valley Project (CVP). At the Sacramento briefing, Mr. Snow will discuss the water supply for the State Water Project (SWP).

California continues to be in a critically dry period, and Reclamation is closely coordinating with the State of California, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the National Marine Fisheries Service, and other Federal, State, and local organizations to fulfill its water supply obligations, which include water quality and the protection of fish and wildlife and associated habitats.
