Environmental Assessment Released on Construction of a Bypass Road Near Hazen, Nevada

The Bureau of Reclamation announces the availability of an Environmental Assessment (EA) analyzing the impacts of construction of a bypass road northwest of Hazen, Nevada.

Vulcan Power Company (Vulcan) is requesting authorization to construct the bypass road to allow Vulcan to explore the potential for the geothermal resources in privately held portions of the Hazen-Patua lease area.

The new road would be parallel to an existing road for a total length of 1,550 feet and would allow access for large trucks and heavy equipment to the lease area.

The EA was prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and is available for public review. Please send written comments to Ms. Andrea Minor, Bureau of Reclamation, 705 N.
