The Bureau of Reclamation announces the availability of an Environmental Assessment (EA) analyzing the impacts of allowing three crossings of Reclamation canal easements.  The three crossings, located in Fernley, Nevada, are requested by the City of Fernley (City).

The proposed project consists of issuing concurrence documents allowing the City to cross Reclamation facilities with pipelines in three locations.  The crossings consist of pipes carrying raw well water to the ground-water treatment plant and pipes carrying treated water to customers.

The EA was prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and is available for public review.  Please send written comments to Ms. Andrea Minor, Bureau of Reclamation, 705 N. Plaza Street, Room 320, Carson City, NV 89701-4015, by close of business Wednesday, November 19, 2008.  Comments may also be faxed to Ms. Minor at 775-882-7592 or e-mailed to aminor@mp.usbr.gov

The EA is available online at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=3455.  If you encounter problems accessing the document online, please contact Ms. Lynnette Wirth at 916-978-5102 or lwirth@mp.usbr.gov.  For detailed information on the specific locations of the crossings and for additional information, please contact Ms. Minor at 775-884-8366.  The document is also available at the Fernley Branch of the Lyon County Library, 575 Silver Lace Blvd, Fernley.   Map
