Reclamation Commissioner John Keys to Recognize Water 2025 Challenge Grant Award to Imperial Valley Water District

Bureau of Reclamation Commissioner John Keys will be in Imperial, Calif., on Wednesday, October 27, to participate in an event recognizing the award of a Water 2025 Challenge Grant to the Imperial Irrigation District (IID).

What: Commissioner Keys will recognize the Imperial Irrigation District for receipt of a Water 2025 Challenge Grant.
When: Wednesday, October 27, 9:00 a.m. Immediately following the ceremony, a tour will be given of the IID Water Operations Center.
Where: Imperial Irrigation District complex library, J-1 building, 333 E. Barioni Boulevard, Imperial, California.
Why: The $115,226 Reclamation grant will help IID implement water measurement improvement projects on the All-American Canal (AAC) to more efficiently and accurately deliver water to the Imperial and Coachella valleys. It is estimated that as much as 37,500 acre-feet of Colorado River water will be saved by this project.
Water 2025 Challenge Grants -- administered by the Bureau of Reclamation -- provide water management agencies throughout the West with matching funds to support a variety of projects to make more efficient use of existing water supplies through water conservation, efficiency improvement, and water marketing projects.
