For Release: October 14, 2004

Reclamation announced today that the Morrow Point Dam access road, near Montrose, Colo. at the Cimarron National Park Service rail road exhibit, may be closed for construction Monday, October 18 through Friday, October 22, 2004.

Reclamation will be installing new guard rails on the crest road to the top of the dam. During construction large rocks may be removed and could block the public access road below.

If road closure is required, fishermen who float down into the Crystal Reservoir and plan to stay for the day would be allowed access to the river from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Normal tourist traffic will not be allowed past the railroad trestle just beyond the 3rd bridge.
